This page gives a brief overview of some projects past and present, and might also link to a section on my Wiki that provides more detail about that particular project. My main interests really public health interventions, food systems interventions, and organisational history. Artificial intelligence is more of a cross-cutting theme and is intertwined with my interest in complex systems.
Public Health Research
I have been involved in a number of public health projects. My focus in normally on using systems and complexity theory in helping making and evaluating interventions in (complex) public health systems. Two notable projects in this area are ActEarly and HENRY. I hope to continue working in public health.
Organisational History
I collaborate on history projects, often related to banking history, but also other aspects of organisational history.
The Hillards Archive
We had a project for a number of years building an archive of the Hillards Supermarket. This project was both to preserve the history of Hillards Supermarkets as a significant regional supermarket chain, and also test out new methods of building and organising digital archives. More can be learnt about the Hillards archive a the project website, thehillardsarchive.net.
Algorithmic Indexing and Graph Analysis
I have a project that has a number of parts, including developing a toolkit to assist with the analysis of text based datasets. The idea is to combine algorithmic analysis of text with network analysis to improve our ability to read large text based data sets using AI and machine learning . This project as a number of different aspects, the website is here.
